Company comes up trumps despite recession

The economy may be facing uncertain times, but Yorkshire-based Transline Resource is on track to deliver a record year.

The Halifax-based company, which supplies more than 1,000 drivers and 3,000 warehousing staff a day, yesterday revealed that it had secured a number of "bumper" contracts in Castleford, Sherburn, Bradford, Barnsley, Selby and Rotherham.

Full-year turnover is expected to rise from 25m to 43m this year.

The recruitment firm is looking for acquisitions and has also launched a training division.

Paul Beasley, the MD of the Transline Resource Group , said: "We are experiencing high demand for our products and services but we operate with caution and are fully aware of the fragility of the retail and manufacturing sectors, upon which we largely depend."

To spread the risk and keep the company competitive, Transline has diversified by securing a number of contracts in the Midlands and the South-East, away from its traditional northern heartland.

Mr Beasley added: "Our on-site managed service is proving very popular on both the industrial and driving side of our business and our newly formed training division has attracted interest from clients, staff and the public.

"Client recommendation has been crucial to our growth and we aim to maximise our current client base in 2011. We plan to invest internally, seek quality acquisitions and raise our public profile.

"Overall, it's hard to predict the impact of Government cuts on consumer spending but we have fought hard and performed well during the recession and aim to continue along that path throughout 2011 and beyond."

The company, which employs 96 staff, also supports its local football club – FC Halifax Town. Transline Resource has agreed to sponsor the team's shorts until 2013.
