Congregational group unveils its new company chairman

Congregational & General Insurance has announced the appointment of Harry Driver as company chairman following David Collett’s retirement from the role.

Mr Driver, who has more than 40 years’ experience in the insurance industry, has been a non-executive director of Bradford-based Congregational for over five years. Mr Driver said: “I am both delighted and proud to have been appointed chairman of such a highly reputable and ambitious company.”

Mr Collett, commenting on behalf of the board, said: “Harry has proven himself to be a natural choice as chairman, having vast insurance expertise and excellent leadership skills.”

Congregational is a specialist insurer of places of worship and a provider of distribution and servicing capability for other insurance organisations.

Leeds-based IT reseller LDD Group has appointed three new members to its sales team. The Horsforth-based business has expanded the team as it looks to develop its telecoms and print management offerings.

Matt Hopkinson joins LDD as a print specialist account manager. Katie Limbert joins as an account manager and Marina Mikulcika has been appointed to the telecoms team, in preparation for the launch of LDD’s new wholesale telecoms division. She will be supporting group sales director Mandi Iles and telecoms account manager Paul Abraham.

AWB Charlesworth, a solicitors’ practice, has appointed Mark Shaw to its wills, trust and probate department in Skipton as a full-time assistant solicitor, to start next week. Jessica Matthews joins the firm next month on a ‘sandwich year’ from her BA Hons Management and Marketing degree at the University of Leeds.

She is student ambassa-dor for the University of Leeds Business School and is tasked with optimising the firm’s website, building on its existing social media platforms and helping with networking events and business seminars.
