Consultancy firms win European contract

A CONSORTIUM led by Mott MacDonald and including WYG and Atkins has been awarded a contract to help strengthen infrastructure development across the Western Balkans.

Management, engineering and development consultancy Mott MacDonald has offices in Leeds, Sheffield and York, while engineering and design consultancy Atkins has bases in Leeds, Rotherham and York. Engineering and design consultancy WYG is headquartered in Leeds.

The consortium, which has been awarded the contract by the European Commission, will provide technical assistance as part of the Infrastructure Projects’ Facility of the Western Balkans Investment Framework (WBIF).

The WBIF pools financial resources from the EC, International Financial Institutions and bi-lateral donors to finance projects that are key to socio-economic development in the Western Balkans. Keith Cook, managing director of international socio-economic services, WYG, said: “We look forward to working with our consortium partners to help the region continue to develop.”
