Video shows huge queues as McDonald's reopens drive-thrus in Leeds

It was a good day for fans of fast food restaurant McDonald's as the company reopened its drive-thrus in Leeds.

A video shows drivers queuing up patiently at four McDonald's in the city as they waited for their Big Mac meals.

The video shows the scene at McDonald's in Colton Retail Park, Oakwood, Kirkstall and on Elland Road.

The reopening of Leeds drive-thrus was the last of the three-day phased reopening plan which saw 497 drive-thru sites swing open their doors on Wednesday.

The McDonald's website confirmed that all drive-thrus in Leeds would reopen at 11am until 10pm.

McDonald's said staff will use face coverings and gloves, while Perspex screens and social distancing measures have also been introduced.

The chain said it will continue to offer a limited menu over reduced hours and will cap spending at £25.
