The Yorkshire Post shortlisted in several categories for major awards
The newspaper is in the running for daily newspaper of the year in The Regional Press Awards, which are run by the Society of Editors.
Three photographers – Bruce Rollinson, James Hardisty and Simon Hulme – are shortlisted for photographer of the year.

Hide AdGreg Wright is shortlisted for business and finance journalist of the year.
A Tour de Yorkshire supplement and the Power Up The North campaign are nominated for supplement and campaign of the year respectively.
The Yorkshire Post’s sister title, the Yorkshire Evening Post, is nominated for two awards.
James Mitchinson, the Editor of The Yorkshire Post, said: “It goes without saying we don’t do what we do, day in day out, in order to win awards.

Hide Ad“We do it because we care about Yorkshire and, quite rightly, feel a responsibility to the people of this county in recording the ups and downs of life as it happens in a fair, accurate and timely fashion.
“However, I cannot in good conscience tell you that being shortlisted nine times – seven for The Yorkshire Post and two for Yorkshire Evening Post – does not feel special this time around.
"It really does and I could not feel more proud of my team.”
