Crispin’s move to improve services

A YORKSHIRE company that manufactures and supplies medical products is planning to grow its consultancy services following a move to larger premises.

Crispin Orthotics has moved from its base near Elland Road in Leeds to a larger 10,000 sq ft property in Morley, West Yorkshire.

NatWest’s commercial banking team in Leeds provided the company with a £437,000 loan to help complete the purchase.

The company’s new home, which is 20 per cent bigger than Crispin’s previous base, is a manor house style building with workshops.

Crispin plan to use the extra space in the manor house to create private consulting rooms to house the company’s 10 clinicians, who provide a full orthotics consultancy service to private patients.

Orthotic devices can help people affected by diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and cerebral palsy.

These conditions can cause problems in the feet, ankles and knees.

Established 30 years ago, Crispin designs, manufactures and sells a wide range of orthotic products, which support or correct the function of a limb or the torso.

These include products for the back, foot and ankle, knee, neck, shoulder, wrist and arm.

All of Crispin’s products are designed and made in-house by a team of skilled technicians.

The company, which employs 36 staff, supplies its products to NHS Trusts as well as sports clubs.

It also provides consultancy services to individuals via its private clinic.

Chris Morley, NatWest Relationship manager, said yesterday: “This is a sound business move and will further enhance the company’s reputation in the orthotics field.”
