Data centre to create new jobs

HIGHLY skilled jobs are expected to be created on a Yorkshire business park next year.

JF Finnegan has secured £6m from a London-based technology investor to fit-out the final unit at the Sheffield Parkway Business Park, in order to accommodate a new data centre occupier in the New Year.

The new facility could create a number of technical jobs, which could have links to local universities. The Sheffield-based contractor and developer has a shortlist of three potential occupiers, all of whom require a data centre operation within the region.

The firm is likely to make a decision on the occupier in the next few weeks.

Philip Hollister, the chairman of JF Finnegan, said; “The securing of the funding is yet another vote of confidence in this pivotal development.”
