CAU, a restaurant group offering contemporary cuisine inspired by the vibrancy, colour and cultural diversity of Buenos Aires, has confirmed it is taking books for tables now for anyone wishing to dine after 5pm next Monday, May 30.

The 100-cover restaurant in the new building on the corner of Raglan Street and Station Parade which was formerly Beales before demolition, will include a separate bar area and an additional 30-cover space outdoors, perfectly timed to enjoy al fresco dining in the warmer months.

The dedicated bar will feature an extensive list of CAU’s own brand wines, chosen to complement the flavoursome steak, as well as a range of cocktails and Clericots - an infamous Argentinian wine-based drink made from regional wine and local fruits - ideal for sharing.

CAU is the sister restaurant to the successful Gaucho group which operates 14 restaurants in the United Kingdom as well as Dubai and Hong Kong.

If the queues last weekend when Yo Sushi opened its doors for the first time at the former Beales store site in Harrogate are anything to go by, the new development will be a hit.

As for the centrepiece of the new building - Everyman cinema - Hoss Ghonouie told the Harrogate Advertiser Series recently: “We’re hoping it will be opening in September this year.”

With its ground floor alone offering 2,238 sq ft of space, the new development has proven popular with tenants.

Other restaurants set to open shortly in the new development development on the corner of Station Parade at 5 Albert Street, which is the work of Harrogate-based developers 4Urban Consulting Ltd, include: Côte Bistro, Byron Burger, ASK and Veeno, the Italian Wine Cafe.
