Deal set to open market for Loft Creations

K&B Harrogate, which was established in 2010 by managing director Darren White, specialises in single and two storey extensions. Mr White will join the board of Loft Creations as head of operations.

“This deal will open up the market for Loft Creations,” said Mr White.

“We create space overall, not just lofts. Much of our work is removing conservatories and putting in proper extensions.”

Founded just four months ago, Knaresborough-based Loft Creations has ambitious expansion plans. Started by former accountant James Roach with private backing, the business claims to provide a completely managed conversion service for homeowners looking to maximise the living space in their homes.

“We are interested in growing both organically and by acquisition,” said managing director Mr Roach.

“We are really pleased that we were able to bring Darren and the K&B Harrogate team into our business to kick on our growth plans so early,” he added.

Mr White said: “Our customers will get all our expertise with the in-house architectural knowledge and customer service support that Loft Creations has brought to the sector for the first time, and that’s a great new offering in this market.”

In January Loft Creations announced sales of £250,000 in its first quarter trading, and following the deal the business is expected to increase its first year turnover to over £1.2m.

A flat property market and the popularity of home improvement TV programmes have made extensions a viable alternative to moving house.
