Destination Yorkshire to take centre stage at York Barbican

YORKSHIRE will enhance its reputation as a major destination for visitors next month when the county hosts the biggest tourism conference in the UK.

Around 1,000 people are expected to gather at York Barbican on Wednesday March 23 for the annual Y16 event, when details of new campaigns and initiatives designed to enhance Yorkshire’s profile will be announced.

Previous Y conferences have featured a range of famous faces, including Life on Mars and Last Tango in Halifax actor Dean Andrews and Paralympic superstar Hannah Cockroft MBE.

This year’s conference will also include star speakers and be hosted by sports presenter Rob Walker.
