Developer Grantside relocates head office to its own riverside development

DEVELOPER Grantside has relocated its head office to the firm’s own development in North Yorkshire.

The company, led by managing director Steve Davis, recently completed a total renovation of the Bonding Warehouse on the south bank of the Ouse at Skeldergate Bridge in York.

It created 11,700 sq ft of luxury offices and four exclusive penthouse apartments at the historic former customs warehouse. The scheme includes York’s first £1m apartment, which was sold off plan.

The move will see Grantside relocate from Station Business Park in Holgate to 2,500 sq ft of bespoke offices on the ground floor of the listed Victorian warehouse.

The Bonding Warehouse is the latest of the company’s developments, which also includes obtaining planning permission for the Chocolate Factory former Terry’s site in York, and delivery of one million sq ft of offices in the North East.

“We are so proud of the Bonding Warehouse development and we couldn’t think of a better home for our business. As well as being a unique historic building in the centre of York, we will have great views of York and some truly inspiring architecture around us every day,” said Mr Davis.

Grantside bought the building two years ago and has spent millions redeveloping the site to include new flood defences and a footbridge that will give residents access when the River Ouse floods.
