Digital group on track with First Hull

DIGITAL agency 9xb has secured a contract with First Hull Trains, as it reports a 20 per cent year-on-year growth in turnover to £1.8m in its latest financial year.

The business, which is based in Harrogate, took over an adjacent building this year to accommodate growth and now employs 40 people. The new 12-month nationwide marketing contract with First Hull Trains will see 9xb target up to 300,000 potential customers every month as part of a brand awareness campaign by the transport company.

Others on 9xb’s client base include Yorkshire surveyors Eddisons and retailers BHS and Debenhams.

Managing director of 9xb, Rob Burns, said the agency’s decision to invest inwardly to strengthen its expertise and expand its digital marketing offering had played a key role in its success.

9xb was founded in North Yorkshire in 2004 and moved to its current premises on Harrogate Business Park in 2008. Mr Burns said: “We have just made some strategic new senior appointments to help us fulfil some exciting plans for the year ahead.” He said the firm had also achieved year-on-year growth in profits, but he declined to discuss exact figures.
