Divisional head for Johnston

NEWSPAPER group Johnston Press, owner of the Yorkshire Post, has appointed Steve Brown as divisional managing director of the North, based in Leeds.

Mr Brown's appointment follows the departure of Chris Green last month.

Mr Brown has spent his career in the regional newspaper industry and has held senior positions at Northcliffe, Trinity Mirror and the Claverley Group.

He will report directly to Danny Cammiade, Johnston's chief operating officer.

Mr Cammiade said: "We are delighted to welcome Steve to the divisional management team. He has some valuable experience which we know he will apply to his region and will benefit the entire group."

Mr Brown will also be managing director of Yorkshire Post Newspapers, publishers of the Yorkshire Post and Evening Post.

In another senior management appointment, Johnston has appointed Henry Faure Walker as digital and business development director.

Mr Faure Walker joined Johnston in 2002 as group business development manager. Until the appointment yesterday he was general manager of the Scotsman Publications. In his new role, Mr Faure Walker will continue the group's digital expansion.
