DLP’s city opening creates new jobs

FIVE jobs have been created after a company that specialises in providing advice on personnel issues opened an office in Yorkshire.

Manchester-based Direct Law & Personnel (DLP) has established an office in The Headrow, in Leeds.

Judith Fiddler, the founder and chief executive of DLP, said: “This is an exciting time for us, we have already established a reputation nationally from our Manchester office and have grown organically; with some big Yorkshire companies on our books it was the right time to open an office in Leeds.”

The company, which also employs 20 staff in Manchester, has an annual turnover of £1.3m.

Ms Fiddler is an employment lawyer who set up DLP 10 years ago. She has taken on human resources and training specialist Juliet Cox to head up the Leeds team.

DLP offers outsourced human resources support to companies that do not have the resources to operate an in-house department.

Ms Fiddler moved to Leeds from Manchester earlier this year. She said: “You couldn’t put your heart and soul into it a few days a week. It was important that I was living here.”
