The firm, which was founded in the late 1980s, employs 120 staff. Its systems are used by more than 18,000 professionals.

Bradford Council leader Coun David Green said yesterday: “Eclipse is a real success story nationwide, and we are delighted they are expanding in Bradford’s city centre growth zone.

“Any companies that are looking to move into the city centre, or are thinking of expanding, should get in touch to see what economic incentives we can offer them.”

Steve Ough, chief software architect for Eclipse, said: “It’s an incredibly proud time for us – the business has gone from one man to a headcount of 120.

“Many of our clients have been with us for a large part of our history, and we are looking forward to continued growth and success in the years to come.”

It is hoped that Bradford’s £35m city centre growth zone will create 2,800 jobs by attracting investment.

The scheme is jointly funded by Bradford Council and the Government’s Regional Growth Fund.
