Ellis promotes three to director with a view to future growth

CABLE cleat manufacturer Ellis has created three new director roles.

The North Yorkshire-based company has promoted Andy Booth to technical director, Tony Conroy to export sales director and Danny Macfarlane to operations director. They have been with the company for 12, 11 and nine years respectively. The new directors will join the existing four directors to help take the company on to its next stage of development.

Glass manufacturer Beatson Clark has appointed a new account manager to drive growth for the business through its distributor network at home and overseas. Jonathan Clark has taken up the role and has taken over management of Beatson Clark’s export accounts as well as those of its UK distributor partners.

Leeds-based web security and filtering specialist Smoothwall has appointed Ian Parrett as marketing manager and Danielle Ward as marketing communications manager as part of the company’s ongoing expansion programme. Mr Parrett joins the company from pre-employment screening firm, HireRight. and Ms Ward previously worked at Connect Yorkshire, which helps growing businesses to raise finance. Leeds digital agency Digital Junkie has appointed a new sales director, Drew Dooler.

In Sheffield, Reset Certification Scheme (RCS) has strengthened its team with the appointment of Laura Hetherington as marketing and customer services manager.

York-based ACM Global Central Lab, which specialises in central laboratory testing for clinical trials, has announced that Isabel Struik has joined the executive management team as head of business development in Europe and will be responsible for business development efforts throughout the region.

Meanwhile, legal practice Squire Sanders has expanded its pensions practice across the UK with the hire of two new partners: Anthea Whitton, who will join the Leeds office from Pinsent Masons and Helen Miles, who will join the Birmingham office from DLA Piper. Hull law firm Andrew Jackson has announced that it has promoted three of its lawyers. Adele Wilkinson has become the firm’s first non-solicitor partner, while Lindsay Gordon and Geoff Phillips have both been promoted to associate. Leeds law firm Lee & Priestley LLP has appointed Christian Peace and Matthew Thompson as partners.
