Energetics wins social housing deal

A power infrastructure firm is targeting growth in Yorkshire after securing a deal to revamp social housing in Leeds.

Energetics Networked Energy, which works across the energy infrastructure market, is working on the 30m overhaul of the Parade and Drive towerblocks in Leeds. The firm has a 250,000 contract to provide all the electricity infrastructure on the development which will transform the social housing scheme into 400 apartments.

The group is also working on providing utility infrastructure at residential developments in Hull, Barnsley, Walsden and Penistone.

"We are not in this just to play a bit part," said chief executive Bill McClymont. "We are determined to grow our business and our reputation."

The Scottish firm has 200 contracts in the UK.
