Energy saving summit in demand

Rotherham’s Magna Science Adventure Centre is hosting a conference on sustainability in manufacturing next month to help Yorkshire firms get to grips with rising energy bills and promote the best new industry innovations.

EMSc is presenting the conference with Made in Sheffield. The Yorkshire Post is media partner.

Organisers say the event on September 18 is nearly fully booked.

Dr Alex Mardapittas, managing director of EMSc, said: “We are delighted and overwhelmed by the response to the conference.

“We knew when we planned the event that there is a desire to learn more about sustainability, but we had no idea that the manufacturing sector would be this enthused about finding ways to improve energy efficiency.”

Speakers include Dr Mardapittas and representatives from the British Frozen Food Federation, environmental consultancy Blue Castle and manufacturing specialists AESSEAL.

In addition, EMSc has announced that it will be launching the latest addition to its range of energy-saving solutions at the conference.

Dr Mardapittas highlighted the reasons for attending: “The conference will include informative case studies, stimulating debate on the future of manufacturing and an opportunity to learn from a number of leading experts.

“In addition, attendees can network with like-minded companies, enjoy a champagne reception and tour of one of the country’s most unique attractions, and have an opportunity to win exclusive prizes.”
