The Yorkshire Post today announces that entries are open to the 2018 Excellence in Business Awards as we seek to honour and champion the region’s first class business community.

For the first time in the event’s history we will be taking the event outside of Leeds and hosting it at the magnificent surroundings of York’s National Railway Museum.

DLA Piper, Grant Thornton, Yorkshire Bank and Yorkshire Water are all on board as main sponsors and the ceremony will take place on Thursday, November 1.

Mark Casci, business editor of The Yorkshire Post, said: “I know how much these awards mean to the region’s businesses and have seen at first hand the joy that winning one brings. We are thrilled to take the event to York this year and with the top quality sponsors who are joining us on this journey.

“Speakers and more sponsors will be announced in the coming weeks but in the meantime, I urge all companies to enter and show off their great work.”

Allison Page, managing partner at DLA Piper’s Leeds office said: “DLA Piper are once again delighted to be sponsoring the awards and remain eager to engage with some of Yorkshire’s largest and most vibrant businesses.

“Each year the quality of the submissions improve significantly which reflects the changing nature of Yorkshire’s business profile, with an increasing number of global businesses establishing themselves in the region.”

Andy Wood, practice leader for Grant Thornton in Yorkshire, said: “We have long viewed The Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards as the most prestigious and rigorous business awards in the region so when the opportunity to sponsor the £10m-50m category arose last year we grabbed it with both hands.

“Many exceptional businesses entered last year’s awards and the judging process was extremely tough; I hope we will be similarly challenged again this year and we will meet more of the businesses who are driving a vibrant economy across our region.”
