Events aim to promote innovation

An innovation network for firms in advanced engineering and materials (AEM) is set to hold a series of events for Yorkshire manufacturers.

The AEM Innovation Network was launched last week at the Advanced Manufacturing Park in Rotherham when staff from firms including Jaguar Land Rover, NG Bailey and the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders gave presentations on materials for low carbon vehicles and future vehicle technologies

The session was organised by National Metals Technology Centre (Namtec) as part of Yorkshire Forward's Innovation Networks.

Alan McLelland, AEM director at Namtec, said: "We hope it will become the first of many events we hold on topical subjects that are relevant to this region's manufacturing businesses.

"The seminar showed how businesses can take advantage of the huge opportunities to develop products and services that meet the needs for lower carbon vehicles and buildings."
