Everbuild, which has a workforce of 270 employees and annual sales of more than £60m, has been bought by Sika AG, for an undisclosed sum. Everbuild will operate as a subsidiary of Sika UK and will be led by the existing management team.

Sika AG, which has annual sales of £3.5bn, said that Everbuild’s founder David Seymour will stay with the company “to drive the continued success of the business and ensure a smooth transition”.

He said: “With Sika we have the possibility to further grow our business and to benefit from the broad R&D capabilities for further product innovation.”

Sika AG said the acquisition will strengthen its position in the construction chemical market and in the professional distribution and do-it-yourself channels. Jan Jenisch, CEO of Sika, said: “The acquisition will give us a strong position in the UK distribution market and offers considerable potential to further leverage Everbuild’s sales channels with Sika’s product range.”

Sika UK is based in Welwyn Garden City with facilities in Preston, Manchester and Norwich. Everbuild, founded in 1994, operates a manufacturing facility for construction chemical products with laboratories and a logistic hub in Leeds. The sellers were advised by the Leeds law firm 3volution.
