Expanding consultancy takes pride of place in new seven-storey HQ

PENSIONS consultancy Capita Hartshead has moved staff into its new seven-storey headquarters.

The company agreed a 15-year lease on the building, which will house about 700 staff on Cutlers Gate, just off Sheffield Parkway.

Tower Investments, advised by a team at hlw Commercial Lawyers in Sheffield, carried out the development which took 18 months to complete. The deal was negotiated by Crosthwaite Commercial, which is also based in Sheffield.

Capita Hartshead, which is part of the Capita Group, has relocated some employees from the former Ecclesall Road offices to the new 61,500 sq ft premises, which were purpose built for the organisation.

Further recruitment is under way. The company – which provides administration, consultancy and other services to the life and pension industry – plans to increase its staff numbers in Sheffield from 400 to at least 670.

Giles Village, who led the team at hlw Commercial Lawyers, said: "Capita Hartshead's headquarters building is a dominant structure and one of the first visible sights for many visitors to the city.

"To have such a respected company utilise it as their headquarters, bringing welcome new employment opportunities to the area, is fantastic."

Martin Crosthwaite, of Crosthwaite Commercial, added: "Capita Hartshead chose the property because of its prominent location together with a stunning and practical design produced by local architects Cordonier Escafeld.

"We're delighted to have been involved throughout the development of this landmark building."
