Fastest 50 winner goes on to more success

THE Yorkshire Fastest 50 has proved to be a springboard for further success for one of the region’s successful IT companies.

Halifax-based Frogtrade won the award for fastest-growing small business at the inaugural Yorkshire Fastest 50 Awards in 2011, organised in association with law firm Ward Hadaway and backed by the Yorkshire Post.

Since winning its category last year, Frogtrade, which specialises in educational software for schools, has gone on to secure a valuable contract from the Malaysian Ministry of Education to install its learning platform technology in all of Malaysia’s 10,000 state schools.

Gareth Davies, managing director Frogtrade, said: “We received a very positive response locally and the award certainly allowed us to demonstrate the stability and strength of our business.”

Martin Hulls, senior partner at the Leeds office of Ward Hadaway, said: “It is great to hear from companies like Frogtrade how that positivity can help a business and it is tremendous to hear that they have gone on to further success.

“This is exactly what we wanted to achieve from the Yorkshire Fastest 50 and we look forward to some more good news stories from this year’s event.”

Yorkshire Fastest 50 aims to highlight and champion the region’s high-achieving private sector companies using research from Bradford University School of Management.

The top 50 profit-making businesses with the largest annual growth in their turnover will appear in a special list to be published in the Yorkshire Post at the end of this month.

Awards will then be handed out to the fastest-growing small, medium and large businesses at an awards ceremony in March. One of the three winners will be crowned Yorkshire’s overall fastest growing business.
