Finance Yorkshire appoints investment director to team

PAUL Gower has joined Finance Yorkshire as investment director on its Equity Linked team.

Mr Gower is returning to Yorkshire having previously worked as an investment manager at South Yorkshire Investment Fund between 2003 and 2006. He has also worked in the North West for YFM Equity Partners and was a non-executive director at biotech company Gentronix.

Meanwhile, Roland Clark has joined chartered accountants Clough & Company as a director. Mr Clark has worked in West Yorkshire for almost 30 years at firms including Grant Thornton, Horwath Clark Whitehill and most recently Baker Tilly.

Mr Clark is also Pro-Chancellor and treasurer of the University of Bradford, a director of Bradford YMCA and a Lay Canon of Bradford Cathedral as well as chair of its finance committee. He will work across Clough & Company’s Cleckheaton and Keighley offices.

David Dickson, chairman of Yorkshire accountants Garbutt & Elliott, has been re-elected to the World Governing Council of global accountancy organisation Praxity. He has been a partner of Garbutt & Elliott since 1990 and became senior partner and chairman four years ago, having previously been managing partner.

Elsewhere, Mike Kirby is the newly appointed chief operations officer of RMS Group Holdings, the Humber based ports operator. The group’s operations include the Boothferry Terminal and covered steel terminal at the port of Goole where Mr Kirby started as yard foreman and worked his way up to managing director.

Sheffield-based manufacturer Gripple has appointed six people to newly created positions. Paul Charlesworth has been appointed as the marketing division’s first senior product manager. Also joining is Jonathan Smith as the second new project manager as well as Catherine King, who has taken on the role of marketing co-ordinator. Other new faces include Gripple’s first video services manager, Shaun Revill, and Soizic Poupart-Piquot and Jason McAndrew in the IT department.

Global property consultancy Knight Frank has welcomed Tom Storrar to its residential and commercial valuation team in Leeds. Mr Storrar joins from Edward Symons.
