Firm has astonishing success with exports

CLEANING products manufacturer Astonish has started to export to Jordan, the 40th country to be targeted by the business.

The Bradford-based company is also experiencing its biggest ever week for exports with goods worth £200,000 leaving its custom-built factory. The company is gearing up to celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2013 with a £13.5m turnover.

This week the company is seeing containers leaving its warehouse for Libya, Dubai, South Korea and Jordan.

Howard Moss, managing director of Astonish, said: “We’re thrilled to announce our 40th export country today whilst we simultaneously experience our biggest ever week for exports.

“We are delighted that our market in the Middle East is growing rapidly; we now export to Israel, Lebanon, UAE and Jordan in the region, with strong demand across all these countries for a broad range of our products.

“As the first container bound for Jordan leaves our warehouse our commitment to British manufacture and growing the UK workforce has never been stronger.

“What’s more, our logo, which includes the Union Flag, is welcomed across the world as a symbol of quality; something of which we are very proud.

“We look forward to witnessing the resultant growth in the company as we expand into new countries during the coming months.”

Initially selling an oven and cookware cleaning paste door-to-door and at trade shows, the company now employs 50 people and manufactures its 70 plus household, automotive and personal care products in Bradford.

Astonish was founded by Alan Moss, whose son, Howard, now runs the business. The company is keen to promote the fact that its cleaning products have never been tested on animals and do not contain any animal ingredients or derivatives of animals.
