First Stop's lifetime warranty

The York-based manufacturer said it will repair BattPAT, the battery-powered tester it produces, free of charge. The product enables organisations to test electrical equipment in their offices, factories or nursing homes.

Managing director Seggy Segaran said: "Every BattPAT is proudly assembled and quality checked at our factory in York. We are so confident of our stringent checks and the robustness of the product that we wanted to pass on these benefits to all our customers."

He added: "We were inspired by examples in the car industry. Companies like Hyundai were offering a five-year warranty and Kia was offering a seven-year warranty. Even Vauxhall have started offering a lifetime warranty. However there are no catches with our offer. The warranty is transferable if the unit is sold on."
