Former Australian Prime Minister Tony Abbott a "principled politician" according to Liz Truss

Abbott is tipped to become a member of the UK’s Board of Trade, a move which has prompted criticism over his past comments on women.

However, while not confirming Abbott would be a member, Ms Truss said: “What I would say about Tony Abbott is that he is a principled politician who is a champion of Free Trade.

He was successful when he was Australian Prime Minister at striking free trade deals and he is a huge champion of the UK.”
