Former Financial Leeds boss gets job

THE former chief executive of Financial Leeds is returning to the private sector with a new job as finance director of The Medical Protection Society.

Howard Kew left the organisation earlier this year after city leaders decided to merge the various publicly funded marketing agencies to save money.

He will succeed Simon Kayll who takes up the position of chief executive in January. Prior to working with Financial Leeds, Mr Kew held senior financial roles at Norwich Union and Leeds Building Society.

Mr Kayll said: “We are very pleased to have secured Howard as a member of the executive team, and I am certain he will contribute to MPS’s financial strength.

“Howard’s range of experience includes the mutual sector, one of the UK’s leading insurance companies and a highly influential role at Financial Leeds.”

He added: “This experience puts him in a strong position to take up the position of finance director, and I am looking forward to welcoming him to the company next month.”

The society provides professional indemnity and expert advice to health professionals.
