Forum to put spring in step of small firms

not-for-profit business support organisation Connect Yorkshire has unveiled plans for its Spring Investment Forum, aimed at introducing fast-growing SMEs to potential investors.

In its tenth year, the forum includes interactive workshops and one-to-one mentoring prior to the event from a panel, including a venture capital investor, an entrepreneur turned investor and Connect Yorkshire’s sponsors.

Delegates have the opportunity to pitch for funding and have exhibition space, which is expected to attract an audience of over 70 companies, including investors from across the UK.

Nick Butler, chief executive of Connect Yorkshire, said that given “the general lack of investment from banks”, this forum is especially important.

He urged companies wishing to expand to apply to present at the forum.

The event will take place on June 21 at DLA Piper’s offices in Princes Square, Leeds, between 9am and 2pm. Those companies wishing to register can visit www.connectyorkshire.org
