Full business park hints at recovery

A Yorkshire business park has reached full occupancy, which suggests the commercial property market is taking steps towards recovery.

The sale of 24,000 sq ft of warehousing at St Paul’s Developments’ Smithy Wood Business Park to energy management specialist, EMSc (UK), means all the industrial space in the Sheffield business park is now taken.

Rebecca Schofield, a partner at the Sheffield office of Knight Frank, who is the agent on the scheme, said: “The flexibility and location of accommodation at Smithy Wood is creating one of the city’s most vibrant business parks.”

The move by EMSc (UK) will enable the company to consolidate its warehouse and head office accommodation.

Dennis Enuson, development manager at St Paul’s Developments, said: “Completing this sale means that we can focus on the development of the remainder of the site for the ‘build-to-suit’ market.

“Ongoing construction of key infrastructure will allow us to respond easily to future requirements of up to 400,000 sq ft, on a single development platform.”
