Funding ensures a window of opportunity for Senior Systems

Residential and commercial window supplier Senior Architectural Systems is on track to increase its turnover by 15 per cent to £31m after securing a £6m funding package.

The firm, which was established in 1991 and provides environmentally-friendly aluminium windows and glazing systems to customers across the UK, has supplied its products to a number of high profile building projects, including the Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare. Senior Architectural Systems, which employs 155 people, acquired Scarborough-based glass company Senior Glass Systems in 2009.

It is now based across sites in Doncaster, Scarborough and Livingston.

The company said it required a cash flow boost after seeing an increase in the number of active building projects. It will use the money to re-build stock levels and bridge the gap between paying suppliers and receiving payments from customers.

The funding package from Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance has enabled the business to develop new window systems for customers.

Lennart Jonsson, managing director at Senior Glass Systems and Senior Architectural Systems, said: “To maintain our market-leading position, it’s become increasingly important to ensure we have flexible liquidity which can adapt to the changing conditions.”

Sheffie ld-based law firm Nabarro advised Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance on the transaction.
