Funding helps Distinction open new door

DISTRIBUTOR Distinction Doors has won funding from the finance arm of General Electric to buy Evergreen Doors.

Barnsley-based Distinction, which supplies glass reinforced polyester entrance door blanks to the UK market, agreed funding and a working capital credit line with GE Capital to buy Batley -based Evergreen from the Epwin Group.

Distinction has steadily grown since it was founded in 2004, when it first partnered with Nan Ya Plastics.

Drew Wright, managing director, said: "The composite door market is a growing industry with current annual sales of over 50m.

"We are keen to keep growing our business and help our customers have greater choice of product, and our acquisition of Evergreen Doors puts us in an ideal position to maintain this growth."

DLA Piper advised on the deal. Distinction was advised by Hawsons Chartered Accountants and hlw Commercial Lawyers.
