Future is electric, says Optare as it aims to return to black

OPTARE’s electric Versa model is the largest battery-powered electric bus on Britain’s roads.

At 11 metres long, it can carry over 50 passengers and has a fast charging station which can charge batteries to full capacity in less than two hours rather than the standard six to eight hours.

This means the buses can be recharged during the day, thereby doubling the number of miles they can cover in a day.
