In February, Thurston acquired Yorkshire Marine Containers, which it has now rebranded as YMC Container Solutions.

Jonathan Petch, chief executive, said: “We have fully incorporated YMC into the Thurston family.

“The acquisition of this company has allowed us to extend our product range as they manufacture a specialist container that is used in the offshore industry, the nuclear industry and the logistics sector

“Thurston already operates in a wide range of sectors across the UK including health, education, sport, industrial and commercial and YMC has allowed us to further develop our customer base and our export operation.”

Thurston provides modular and portable buildings, which can be built off-site. The range can be built more quickly than conventional buildings without causing on-site disruption.

“This is an exciting time for Thurston’s and we are working towards growth, despite the economy,” said Mr Petch.
