Getech boosted by contract win

LEEDS-based Getech Group, a business which specialises in providing data, studies and interpretation services to the oil, gas and mining exploration sectors, today revealed that it had signed a significant new contract.

The company provides complex geological and geophysical data to help oil companies including Shell, BP and Exxon Mobil decide where to sink new wells.

The company has secured a contract to apply its "full range of geosciences capabilities" in order to obtain a better understanding of sub-surface structures and petroleum systems.

The contract will generate gross revenue of $1.1m, the majority of which is anticipated to fall in the current financial year.

Raymond Wolfson, the chief executive, said: "This contract is particularly exciting because not only is it our first with this client but it is also the first large proprietary contract that combines and integrates our traditional geophysics skills with our recently developed geological analysis and interpretation capabilities."
