A DANISH firm has increased its UK presence by acquiring an engineering and environmental consultancy, it was revealed yesterday.

Ramboll has a base in Leeds, while Gifford has offices in Leeds and York.

Ramboll’s UK managing director Charles McBeath said: “If we had designed a perfect fit, we could not have achieved better than this. Ramboll in the UK is traditionally strong in the private sector and Gifford has an established reputation in the public sector. Even the office locations around the UK balance really well.”

Gordon Clark, the chairman of Gifford, said: “Our track record, history and heritage have remarkable similarities.”
