Good impression: Alistair McGowan revealed as our awards MC

The BAFTA-winning star will bring his acclaimed impressions to the region’s most prestigious business awards ceremony.

Peter Charlton, Editor of the Yorkshire Post, said: “Our awards celebrate the successes of Yorkshire’s world-class businesses.

“We hope that the ceremony will be a night to remember with some world-class impressions from Alistair.”

Mr McGowan, a graduate of Leeds University, is best known for The Big Impression with Ronni Ancona, a show which won multiple awards.

His latest prime-time Saturday night show, You Cannot Be Serious!, is focused on sport and features hilarious send-ups of Roy Hodgson, John McEnroe, Jedward and Robbie Savage.

The Excellence in Business Awards are now open for entries and the Yorkshire Post wants to hear from all companies with a great story to tell.

They must be based in Yorkshire or have a significant presence in the region.

The seventh annual awards highlight the companies and individuals who are playing a vital role in delivering prosperity and growth to Yorkshire through ingenuity, inspiration and hard work.

The November 1 ceremony will feature a heavyweight political speaker to be announced soon.

Last year, Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg delivered the headline speech and handed out awards to the winners.
