Graduate makes ‘post it’ notes breakthrough

A young entrepreneur is to launch the world’s first reusable and transferable “post it” note.

Leeds Metropolitan University graduate John Macleod said his new brand Clear Notes has received approval from the British Safety Standards for the brand’s pen which has ink that can be rubbed out so the note can be used again. The product, best described as a see-through, reusable version of the post-it note – allows users to make annotations and drawings over documents, books, files, maps or any other surfaces.

“I came up with the idea for Clear Notes when I worked for an insurance firm in 2010,” said Mr Macleod. “I’d regularly find myself dealing with a lot of documents and it was tricky trying to make notes without actually writing on the papers.”

The 23-year-old plans to sell Clear Notes to Britain’s education market.
