Group on third China trip in a year

Creativesheffield has embarked on its third trade mission to China in 12 months.

Ten businesses from the Sheffield City Region joined the mission to seek out opportunities for international growth and development in the world’s fastest growing economy.

The delegation, which is supported by UK Trade and Investment, will visit Chengdu where it will attend the EU-China Business and Technology Fair, and Chongqing. Members will take part in business-to-business meetings, networking events and business forums in both cities.

Joanna Lavan, international trade and relations manager at Creativesheffield, said: “Chengdu, Sheffield’s sister city, is a major city in Western China with a population of 12m people. The city is at the pinnacle of strategic development and holds many opportunities for Sheffield businesses – showing a strong interest in working with UK organisations. Our previous trade missions have been an undeniable success, with participants building strategic partnerships and relationships with both professionals and civic leaders.”

Organisations taking part include WANdisco, Horizon Composites, Tinyquest and Hardy Transaction Management.

Ms Lavan added: “I would encourage organisations in the city region to take part in order to access this burgeoning market and capitalise on the opportunities that are created for their businesses.”
