Hampshire to be warmed by Yorkshire

YORKSHIRE Energy Services has won a contract to manage a major insulation project across Hampshire.

The Huddersfield firm, which previously delivered the Kirklees Warm Zone scheme, did not disclose the value of Insulate Hampshire but said it will run until September next year.

William Edrich, chief executive of Yorkshire Energy Services, said: “Working with Hampshire County Council and the 11 district councils involved is not only widening our geographical coverage, but helping to secure jobs and increase employment opportunities. We will ensure as many householders as possible enjoy warmer, more comfortable homes, improve health and reduce Hampshire’s carbon emissions.”

Insulate Hampshire will offer householders access to cavity wall and loft insulation at subsidised rates or free to certain groups. Yorkshire Energy said it will also offer installations of solar PV from its installation arm YES Renewables.
