Headland buy sees the Natural History Museum become a client

THE museum dubbed “the cathedral of nature” which includes specimens collected by Charles Darwin has become a client of a fast-growing Yorkshire digital marketing agency.

Headland Multimedia, the Leeds-based digital marketing agency, has acquired Covent Garden-based web company Odin Solutions for an undisclosed sum.

As a result of the deal, Headland’s client list now includes The Natural History Museum, which is probably best known for its extensive fossil collection and links with Darwin.

The acquisition broadens Headland’s web and design services. It also gives the company a presence in London for the first time. Headland will operate out of Odin Solutions’ former offices and has employed all five members of its team, including the company’s founder and managing director, Isabel Allen, who will continue to manage the operation under the Headland banner.

Ken Heptonstall, Headland’s managing director, said: “I’ve known Isabel for several years, having worked with her on a large scale project to redesign Nottingham Trent University’s website. The Odin Solutions team has a complementary set of core skills, which fits perfectly with our business plan for growth.”

Following the acquisition, Headland’s turnover will rise from around £1.2m to £1.5m. Founded in 1991, Headland’s clients include Alton Towers, HMRC, The Highways Agency, Santander, Machine Mart and National Geographic TV.

Following the acquisition of Odin Solutions, Headland has 25 staff and offices in Leeds, Nottingham and London.
