A NUTRITIONIST, personal trainer and chef are behind the launch of a new takeaway and restaurant in Sheffield.

Nourish, which markets itself as ‘fast food with a conscience’, aims to offer a healthy option for those after a quick meal.

Mexican bean chilli, salad of mackerel, beetroot and horseradish, and a protein box of chicken, salmon, prawns and boiled egg, can all be found on the menu.

Nourish is the brainchild of nutritionist David Stache, personal trainer Ben Pryor and chef Richard Pryor, whose experience includes Sheffield-based gastro pub The Milestone.

People struggle to make the right nutritional choice when grabbing a quick meal, according to the trio, who have dubbed their offering “a wholesome alternative to the fast food burger and deep fried chicken”.

“We’re going to start a new fast food revolution,” said Mr Stache.

“The country is getting unhealthier by the day and it’s hardly surprising as the fast food market is growing at an alarming rate.

“With the likes of McDonalds, Burger King and KFC dominating the high street, there just isn’t that much choice when it comes to healthy fast food – so we’re going to step in, take on the big boys and offer a viable nutritious alternative.

“It’s what Yorkshire is crying out for – and we’re geared up and ready to help make this county a healthier place.”

Each meal comes with a breakdown of its nutritional content along with information on its benefits. But Nourish stressed that the focus is on flavour as well as nourishment.

The trio behind the business have ambitions to set up stores across the region.

There are also plans for a programme of nutrition courses, seminars and evening cooking sessions, as well as weekly food-boxes of fresh fruit and vegetables, meat and fish.

Located in Sheffield city centre, Nourish is based on Pinstone Street.
