Hica to hire staff as care demand grows

NINETy jobs are expected to be created in Yorkshire by a company that provides care for people in their homes.

Hica at Home, which was formerly Hica Homecare, is growing in response to demand for its care services from local councils and residents in West Yorkshire.

The company is recruiting 46 staff to support people in their homes in Bradford, Bingley, Keighley and the surrounding villages.

A further 44 staff will be recruited over the next six months.

The company plans to hire six supervisory managers and 40 care support workers.

The care workers will support residents with activities such as preparing meals, shopping, paying bills and helping with medication.

Penni Brown, Hica at Home’s managing director, said yesterday: “We have seen a big increase in demand lately.

People are living longer. There is a continued drive to enable people to enjoy a better quality of life by supporting them to live more independently.”

Recent requests for the not-for-profit company’s services have come from local councils, and also from residents.

Hica at Home’s head office in Cottingley, near Bingley, has 103 staff, who support around 400 residents across West Yorkshire. The company recently extended its services, which means it can provide help with cleaning and gardening.
