The high achievers that have won a place in Yorkshire’s Fastest 50

Today, we reveal the identities of the inspirational companies that have found a place in the Yorkshire Fastest 50 2014 – the comprehensive list of the region’s fastest-growing companies.

The list shows our regional business community’s strength in depth. The list includes firms such as MSM Foods, a Polish food importer, Sheffield steel firm William Cook Holdings, and clothes maker Skopes.

Sponsored and organised by law firm Ward Hadaway and backed by The Yorkshire Post, the list highlights and celebrates privately-owned companies in the region that have achieved the largest growth over recent years. Established in 2011, the Yorkshire Fastest 50 recognises high achieving companies and encourages others to follow in their footsteps.

The list has been compiled in association with Top 100 UK law firm Ward Hadaway, which has grown its Yorkshire operation since establishing a base in Leeds in the summer of 2008.

Martin Hulls, the head of office at Ward Hadaway Leeds, said: “As in previous years, the Yorkshire Fastest 50 2014 highlights and celebrates fantastic achievements by companies from right across the region.

“It also demonstrates what a great variety of companies are prospering here, and provides a fascinating glimpse of the different sectors which help to make Yorkshire’s economy so vibrant and resilient.”

Following today’s publication of the Yorkshire Fastest 50, an awards ceremony will take place at Aspire in Leeds on Friday, March 14 when the winners of the Yorkshire Fastest 50 2014 will be revealed.

There, awards will be given to the fastest growing small, medium and large businesses, as well as an overall award for the fastest growing business of the year.

Here, in alphabetical order, is the Yorkshire Fastest 50 for 2014.

• Abbey Forged Products, Sheffield

This family-owned company is one of Europe’s leading metal forging and stainless steel suppliers.

• Access Hire Nationwide, Normanton

A supplier of vehicle mount access platforms and specialist equipment throughout the UK.

• Amvale, Scunthorpe

Amvale provides a wide range of transport services including car and van rental, school buses, coach hire and emergency organ delivery and patient transport.

• Argrain, York

A family-owned grain merchant and feed business, Argrain trades throughout Yorkshire and North East England.

• ATB Morley, Leeds

ATB Morley provides motors and generators used in mining, power generation, marine, defence and other heavy duty industrial applications.

• Auto Silicone Hoses, Mirfield

This company lays claim to being the UK’s largest manufacturer, distributor and stockist of performance silicone hoses and performance race parts for the automotive sector.

• Beal Homes, Hessle

Beal Homes’ current developments include houses in Hull and Willerby, while the company’s previous developments have been built at locations including Lincoln and Scotter.

• BJSS, Leeds

This award-winning IT consultancy specialises in providing solutions to complex IT problems for a wide range of clients.

• Blackapple Solutions, Huddersfield

Founded in 2004, Blackapple Solutions is a specialist IT consultancy which works with multinational clients in a range of sectors.

• Bradbury Group, Scunthorpe

Bradbury Group specialises in manufacturing steel security products.

• Cardinal Group, Shipley

This company has more than 30 years’ experience in designing, manufacturing and installing retail and commercial interiors in the UK and globally.

• Caterers Choice, Huddersfield

Caterers Choice provides a range of food and drink to the sandwich and salad industry, food manufacturers, food service, fast food, bakers, and schools.

• Collett Group, Halifax

Collett Group’s activities include work in the marine and consulting sectors, as well as a range of transport and projects services.

• Compass Engineering, Barnsley

Compass Engineering specialises in the design, build and manufacture of all types of steel structures.

• Contract Natural Gas, Harrogate

CNG provides a range of advice and services to commercial gas users, offering itself as an alternative to the ‘Big Six’ gas companies.

• eChem, Leeds

eChem is a chemical manufacturer with production facilities in Leeds and the US.

• FTL Seals Technology, Morley

FTL supplies sealing and bearing products to customers in the UK and abroad.

• Galglass, Barnsley

This company designs, manufactures and installs steel and concrete storage tanks.
