High value put on skills of new assistant director who will develop team in North

Ernst & Young has expanded its valuation team with the appointment of assistant director Sarah Lawton.

Joining the firm from PwC, she will help build the team in the next three years across the north of England from her base in Leeds. She has 13 years experience as a valuation adviser and has spent time working in Leeds, London, Birmingham and Brisbane during her career.

Brand communications agency Clearsilver has appointed senior account manager Pip Rogan as it looks to expand its PR division.

She joins the Leeds-based firm from the Red Consultancy in London where she was based for three years.

A popular Yorkshire hotel has appointed a new general manager to help drive the business forward and maximise opportunities for its accommodation, restaurant and adjoining tearoom.

The Black Swan Hotel at Helmsley, North Yorkshire, has taken on hospitality manager Andrew Jamieson to the top role. He was previously senior manager at the five-star Galgorm Resort and Spa in Northern Ireland.

Rob Cohen, who previously spent five years with Sanderson Weatherall, joins the Leeds team as senior surveyor with responsibility for driving new business and managing existing instructions including the national accounts for Co-operative Group and Aldi.

The newly appointed Leeds-based team includes information architect Alexander Wellard, web designer Isaac Stott, project manager Chantal Knox and account executive Jenni Agnew. Between them they hold a range of brand experience gained from working on campaigns for global clients including UNICEF, London 2012, Adidas, and Sainsburys.

Property advisor Savills, which has offices in Leeds, Harrogate and York, has appointed Andrew Wraith as head of agribusiness across its UK operation.

Mr Wraith, already a director within the Savills rural team, is from East Yorkshire and has worked for Savills since 2006.

Commercial solicitor Shulmans has made two new appointments to its construction and property litigation division.

Susan Barrington-Binns, a construction lawyer, joins Shulmans from Misick and Stanbrook, a law firm in the Turks and Caicos Islands, where she worked for two years. Michael Grant has been appointed to the firm’s property litigation team.

Law firm Walker Morris has extended its reach in the social housing sector with the recruitment of housing management specialist, John Cox. Mr Cox was previously employed in local government where he led a legal department which was responsible for housing matters.
