Historic building set for revival

Broad Gate was formerly the home of Lewis’s, the first department store in Leeds, which was built in 1932. It was later home to the much-loved Allders store.

In its heyday, as Britain moved away from post-war austerity, the Allders department store was the envy of every shopping centre outside London.

Broad Gate will soon become a place to work and shop. Northwood Investors has appointed the Leeds office of global property consultancy Knight Frank to market the 300,000 sq ft Broad Gate office and retail development.

The mixed-use scheme includes four floors of Grade A office space and a suite of penthouse offices, together with four prime retail units.
