Hitchenor adds private equity guru

Executive search firm Hitchenor Wakeford has added a private equity specialist to its board as it prepares for further expansion, which includes plans to establish offices in Asia Pacific.

Hazel Cameron has worked with US firms Bowman Capital and Cross Atlantic Capital Partners and has held non-executive board positions at companies including Keepmoat, the social regeneration business.

Chief executive John Wakeford, who has moved from Leeds to London to spearhead growth plans, said he was “delighted” with the appointment.

He said: “Both her extensive boardroom contacts and expertise in advising fast-growing entrepreneurial private equity firms like ours will be invaluable in helping us achieve our next phase of growth as we expand into new markets.”

He wants to increase turnover from £6m to £10m in the next five years and open offices in Hong Kong and Sydney.

Mr Wakeford said: “That’s where the talent is moving. You need to be where the demand is, which is Asia Pacific, rather than Europe.”
