HLM begins work on £7m technology centre in city

'‹'‹Sheffield-based architect'‹s'‹ HLM'‹ said construction has started on '‹the'‹ new £7m Boole Technology Centre'‹ in'‹ Lincoln'‹.

The technology centre ​will be​ the first purpose-built development ​at​ the Lincoln & Science Innovation Park, a joint venture between the Lincolnshire Co-op and the University of Lincoln.

When it opens in 2017 the Boole Technology Centre will complete the first phase of the Lincoln Science & Innovation Park.

HLM​ said its​ brief was to design​ flexible business accommodation ​for a combination of offices, laboratories, workshops and shared workspaces ​aimed at start-up companies in the advanced engineering and technology sectors.

HLM director Nick Beecroft said: “We are delighted the scheme has planning consent and will be going on site. Our appointment to design the scheme reinforces our position within the education sector where we can demonstrate considerable expertise.”

David Reid, operations manager at property services group, Willmott Dixon, added: “Boole Technology Centre is an excellent example of collaborative public-private sector working.”
