HML names managing director to run and develop company’s Irish operation

YORKSHIRE-based HML has appointed David Kelly as managing director of its Irish operations.

He will be responsible for helping to develop HML’s business in Ireland, as well as working with potential clients.

The company, which is headquartered in Skipton, has been servicing Irish lenders’ loan portfolios since 2005. It also has offices in Glasgow, Derry and Dublin.

Mr Kelly joins HML from Cork-based SouthWestern, where he was chief commercial officer. Before this, he was business development director and country manager at Capita in Ireland.

Gent Visick, the Leeds-based industrial property specialist, has hired investment professional Garry Howes.

Mr Howes joins the firm following nine years as head of investment in the north of England for Gerald Eve.

Mr Howes, who was a leading figure in the £37m sale of Princes Exchange – the largest single office investment sale in Leeds last year – will lead Gent Visick’s investment offer.

The corporate commercial team at Langleys Solicitors in York has strengthened its corporate offering with the appointment of partner Christian Hunt, who joins the firm from Leeds-based Clarion, where he was a partner for six years.

Property lawyer Russell Burnett has left the Leeds office of Eversheds to become a partner in the property department at Harrogate-based solicitors, Barber Titleys.

Mr Burnett will work alongside head of property, Richard Davis.

Three lawyers have been promoted by Gordons, which has offices in Leeds and Bradford. Corporate solicitor Andy Brian, planning solicitor Kate Butterfield and commercial property solicitor Joanne Fearnley have become partners.

Harrogate law firm McCormicks has appointed solicitor Stephen Hopwood to head its family law team.

He joins the practice after seven years as a senior solicitor in a large specialist family law practice. McCormicks has also promoted Carol Hancock, who becomes a legal assistant. She has experience in a wide range of family matters.

Leeds based housebuilder Duchy Homes has bolstered its team with three new appointments.

Sue Lambert joins from LSL Property Specialists as sales manager, alongside Kirsty Naylor who joins as financial controller and Nick Booth as site manager.
