Hollywood launch of the Jaguar car that has that winning X factor

Billed as the most dynamically capable, performance-focused, production Jaguar ever, the road car was revealed at a flashy launch event in Hollywood before an audience of media, customers and celebrities including Mr Cowell and supermodel Miranda Kerr.

The 5.0-litre V8 supercharged engine is capable of 0-60mph in four seconds and a top speed of 186mph.

Ian Callum, director of design at Jaguar, said: “Creating a sports coupe is the purest of design tasks, and also the most challenging; get it right and aesthetically the result will be as dynamic as the car should be rewarding to drive.

“In the F-type coupe, I believe we’ve got it right.”

Prices for the F-Type start at £51,235. Top Gear magazine said: “This is the two-door Jag hopes will dish out a kicking to both the Porsche Cayman and 911.”
